Check out these beautiful eyes...
This picture isn't your run-of-the-mill "tummy-time" with a 4-mo-old. (aside: how many hyphens can I shove into one sentence...) The pictures above is of Layna playing peek-a-boo with Nicole! She lays on her belly and puts her face in the sofa, then lifts it up for Nicole to say "Peek-a-boo!!" and then smiles and laughs and starts all over again. How cute is that!!
In other cute news, Layna's been full of happy little squeals these days. In fact, she often laughs at very random things: the ceiling fan, the refrigerator, or Brayden (okay, perhaps laughing at Brayden isn't random... but Brayden himself certainly is).
Here's a quick video of her cute squeals!

Beach-bubbles
One of the perks of the condo at Myrtle Beach was the jetted tub in the master bath. Brayden loved the awesome bubbles it created (they got bigger and bigger as the week progressed... and as my fingers got more soap-happy). Here are some of the great pictures of his adventures.
Stay tuned for many more beach posts (there are a TON of pictures!).

Chatty Girl
In the last week or so, Layna has really found her voice. She talks and laughs with us, but most of all she LOVES Brayden. She'll smile and giggle at him even when he's not paying any attention to her, and will consistently follow his every move. Although she's been much cuter than this (with squeals that rank as the best sounds ever!), this video is a pretty good example of how she chats it up. This was just tonight, so quite current!
AND... a BIG Congratulations to Jen and Eric Weitz who are expecting their second child! We are the proud Godparents of their first son, Ethan, and are thrilled that he will have a little brother or sister next February!

Rolling baby
Mark the day!! Layna just rolled over for the first time! She was on her belly for quite awhile and then just got mad... and rolled to her back! Just a few days shy of 4 months, she is officially "mobile" (or is that a bit too generous... whatever!). We didn't get the first time on video like with Brayden (click here to jog your memory) but I'm sure we can hook up a video of her soon. Until then, just look at the previous post for an example of her happy-blanket face.

Our happy girl
Layna's getting very old very fast. It seems like just a week ago that she wasn't even smiling at us... but those days are far behind. She's smiley all the time now, especially when she's in her Baby Bjorn. We brought the Bjorn for Layna while we're at the beach, and yesterday, I turned her around to face out for the first time -- and she LOVED it! She just smiled and smiled as we walked, especially when there are pretty faces to look at (like her Mama's!).
Since she's such a cutie, it's not fair to keep her to ourselves, so here are some great pictures of her over the past couple weeks.
And, if you'd indulge me, I love these pictures (they'll be up in my office as soon as I get around to printing them...)
*Special thanks to Gigi for all the great photography over the past couple weeks!!*

Some Brayden fun
Don't be jealous -- but we're hanging out at the beach this week. Yahoo! After all the upheaval of the past few months, a week at the beach is very welcome... even if it's sharing a condo with the WHOLE family (10 in all!). Pictures will come after we get back.
Until then, I popped some pictures up to show you from two weeks ago. This is a collection of some funny pictures of Brayden -- he is such a funny kid. I can't tell you how great he's become as he's gotten older. His personality has matured and he's calmed down quite a bit... but he's still full of fun. He loves fruit, and bananas are one of his favorites, as you can see:
...and of course, what do you do with a banana... you eat it!
After all his eating, Brayden played a lot with all the visiting family. He showed off his playroom to Uncle-to-be Matthew,
and then opened some of his gifts (or are these gifts for Layna??).
We hope you all have a GREAT week! :)

Layna's Baptism Party
After Layna's baptism, we returned to our house to celebrate her with a backyard cookout with family and friends! She was such a great girl during the ceremony and "put up" with all the love she received from everyone like a pro.
After the ceremony, on the way to the house, Uncle Paul continued to get laughs:
Sito also got in on the action!
Poppy and Mia graciously cooked up the vittles...
...while Mom and Dad served the cake!
And one more quick pic of the Godparents with their new frame for pictures of their new Goddaughter!

Friends in Atlanta!
Here's my promise: there are a BUNCH of great pictures from Layna's baptism lunch that I will be putting up soon.
But until then, I wanted to post a few pictures of the great friends who came out to support the family for my ordination last weekend (some who drove 5+ hours to be there!).
Some from seminary:
Some from Birmingham:
And some from so long ago that they're more like family:
Plus, a big thanks to Nancy Baxter who graciously presented me for ordination to the deaconate and priesthood... one of the most wonderful people ever!

Papa's got a brand new bag!
And all God's people said... AMEN! I'm a priest! Thankfully all went well last Sunday (save a little car drama... a story for another time). We had a wonderful family lunch at Maggiano's (including family of the friend variety) before the ordination service, then rolled down Peachtree to the Cathedral to get me fathered.
The service was beautiful! Thanks (sincerely) to everyone who has supported the whole family these long years -- we are so grateful!
Now, here are some pictures:
...and after the new clothes and some hand laying (and a few tears)... it's official!
Let the party begin! Here's the whole group of family who came to support us:
...and some small group shots:
A BIG thanks to all our friends who made the trip! Your pictures will follow! :)
